David Sheen, Attorney at Law
David Sheen’s parents immigrated to the United States more than three decades ago, so their children could pursue a higher education and obtain a more fulfilling life. Because David has had firsthand experience of the many obstacles and challenges that immigrants have to face in a new country, it was an easy choice for him to pursue a career in law with the goal of assisting others to achieve their American dream and become good citizens of this great nation.
David has a Doctorate Degree in Law and he has over 17 year of professional experience as a respected attorney in the San Francisco bay area. He is the Principal Attorney of JD Global Law Firm. He has represented hundreds of clients ranging from multi-national companies to mid-sized and small companies, as well as individuals. His law firm is a full service law firm that helps clients in the following areas: Estate Planning, Immigration Law (including investment based EB-5 visa), U.S. and International Business Services, and Family Law. He has personally represented clients from all around the world including China, India, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, France, Senegal, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Israel, Vietnam, Australia, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines.
David is licensed to practice law before all California State Courts as well as United States Federal District Courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is an active member of the California State Bar, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Asian American Bar Association, Associations of International Business Lawyers, U.S. and Fremont Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Bar Association of San Francisco, Barristers Club of San Francisco, and Alameda County Bar Association.
David has received numerous awards and recognitions from U.S. Congressman to California State Senator. David has been quoted by the San Jose Mercury News. He also has been interviewed by Sing Tao Radio, Channel 26 KTSF and KCNS TV on various legal and community service related subjects. Mr. Sheen was also featured in the CCYP among the most successful Asian-American professionals in Northern California. He is also a community advocate and a frequent guest speaker for local schools, businesses, and community organizations on various topics about civic participation, immigration law reform, estate planning and education.
David has taken many leadership positions in the community. He is the Past President of Citizen for Better Community (CBC 2007-2008). Currently, he is serving as the Legal Counsel of the CBC Board of Directors. CBC is a non-profit community service organization founded in 1992. CBC’s mission is to initiate, sponsor and promote community events, which will affect the well-being of Chinese Americans with an emphasis on education, health, business and community involvement. David currently also serves as the President (2014-Present) of Asian Business Alliance. ABA is a supportive organization addressing the needs and challenges of many Asian and minority business owners, including limited exposure, language/cultural barriers, and other business development issues. Mr. Sheen also served as a Past Board Member and Vice President of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) Bay Area Chapter. This organization was founded by Mr. CC Yin. APAPA’s Mission is to promote the advancement of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Americans through active participation and leadership in civic and public affairs.
David is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. He and his family attend Forerunner Christian Church in Fremont. He volunteers as a Sunday School Message Teacher at FRCC (PreK Class). He enjoys reading, drawing, camping and traveling with his family.
